Yana Rusnak is a Ukrainian contemporary artist born on November 11, 1993. She graduated from Bohdan Khmelnytskyi National University with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts and decorative and applied arts. She also obtained a Master’s degree in graphic design and a teaching degree in art education from a higher educational institution. Artist Statement: The concept of Yana Rusnak’s paintings is allegorical, demonstrating how human emotions and character intertwine with the animal world. The triangle is a fundamental shape that permeates our reality, especially in the realm of spirituality. Each figure in Yana Rusnak’s compositions consists of triangles, each carrying a unique meaning and code. The triangle symbolizes manifestation, enlightenment, revelation, and a higher perspective; often used to represent growth cycles leading to a higher state of being. In a spiritual context, it signifies a path towards enlightenment or connection with an omnipresent being. Artistically, the triangle symbolizes creative output arising from the harmony of opposites, prized for its adaptability to represent various human moods. The significance of the triangle is closely tied to the number three, a common element in mystical teachings. Each angle of the triangle encompasses three forces. Numerologically, “one” signifies power, “two” denotes discovery, and “three” represents the birth of true wisdom. Two precious metals, gold and silver, are featured in each artwork. Silver symbolizes the moon, embodying innocence, purity, and mercy. Gold represents the sun, symbolizing stability and high value. Known by its Latin name aurum, gold is resistant to corrosion by air, water, or most acids, making it durable and long-lasting. Its brilliance and splendor are associated with the sun, remaining untarnished over time. Yana Rusnak employs textured backgrounds to infuse dynamism into her work, creating three-dimensional compositions by blending materials. Her paintings fuse figurative and abstract styles. Yana has not only held personal exhibitions but also organized exhibitions in collaboration with embassies and cultural ministries internationally. In 2016, an exhibition took place in Beirut, organized with support from the Lebanese Ministry of Culture. In 2018, an exhibition was hosted at the residence of the Austrian Ambassador in Baku, Azerbaijan, attended by collectors, art enthusiasts, businessmen, politicians, artists, and 12 ambassadors from various countries. That same year, with the assistance of the Ukrainian Embassy in Austria, Yana organized a personal exhibition at the Gustav Klimt Museum in Vienna. The artist represented Ukraine at the Open 20th-anniversary exhibition in Venice, showcasing her paintings alongside prominent figures in the art world such as Yoko Ono, Orlan, Phil Akashi, and Luigi Ontani. Yana Rusnak has participated in numerous international exhibitions, including Art Monaco, Art Miami, World Art Dubai, ADIHEX in Abu Dhabi, Art Palm Beach in Dubai, and others.
